Customers are responsible for the electrical equipment and assets that they own. This includes the responsibility to repair or replace equipment when necessary. These repairs are necessary to maintain the safety and reliability of your electrical equipment and ours. Proper upkeep helps us all avoid potential disruptions to the electrical grid.

Customer responsibilities
If you’ve identified damage to a piece of customer-owned equipment, or recently received a service repair notice from Toronto Hydro called a Customer Action Form (CAF) that points out something electrical on your home that needs immediate repair or replacement, the homeowner or property manager is responsible for the cost of repairs.
What needs to be done
Toronto Hydro is not authorized to repair customer-owned equipment. You must hire a Licensed Electrical Contractor to complete the repairs.
A list of electrical contractors can be obtained through the Electrical Safety Authority’s website or by calling 1-877-ESA-SAFE.
Only Toronto Hydro is authorized to disconnect and/or restore power to your home. If your repairs require power to be temporarily disconnected in order for your Licensed Electrical Contractor to perform the work safely, please submit an isolation request through our Isolation Service Request Online Form or contact Toronto Hydro at 416-542-8000 (press 4).
