Ways to pay your business' bill

There are a number of ways to pay your Toronto Hydro bill.

Please note: We don’t accept credit card payments unless you've received a disconnection notice or have been disconnected.

Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD)

PAD is an easy, convenient and secure way to pay your bill on time.

When you register for PAD, your total amount due is automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the bill due date. You’ll continue receiving your bill two weeks before the due date, so you know the exact amount that will be withdrawn.

Please note: PAD won't be applied to a bill that has already been sent to you — only upcoming ones. You can pay your bill through one of our other payment options.

How to register for PAD

It's simple — just follow these steps:

  1. Have your current bill and banking information ready.
  2. Go to our self-serve portal — it's the fastest way to sign up.

Don't have an online account? Register for access to our self-serve portal.

If you're unable to sign up for PAD online, you can sign up using our Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) form (PDF, 433 KB).

Financial institution

Pay your bill in person at your bank, by telephone, or use the online bill payment options offered by most financial institutions. You'll need your 10-digit Toronto Hydro account number. Please note the payee name should be Toronto Hydro-Electric System.

Mail

Pay your bill by mailing a cheque payable to Toronto Hydro-Electric System Ltd. Please include your 10-digit Toronto Hydro account number in the memo field on your cheque.

Toronto Hydro
PO Box 4490 STN A
Toronto ON M5W 4H3

Note: You can also find this information on the back of your bill.

Telpay

Pay your bill online directly from your bank account with a Telpay account.

Equal Payment Plan (EPP)

Please note: EPP is only available to small commercial customers (average monthly demand below 50 kW).

With an EPP, your annual electricity costs are spread evenly so you pay the same amount each month. We estimate how much electricity you’ll use for the upcoming year and divide that amount into equal monthly payments. Once a year, your account is reconciled.

Any overpayment or underpayment is applied to your next bill. If our annual reconciliation shows that you owe an amount equal to or exceeding your average monthly bill, we’ll recover the balance over the following year’s equal monthly payments.

How to register for EPP

Prior to registering for EPP, your account must be paid in full. To register, log in to our self-serve portal.
