Residential conservation

Energy-efficiency and conservation programs are now delivered by the Independent Electricity System Operator's (IESO's) Save on Energy. The following programs are currently available to eligible residential customers.

Home Renovation Savings Program

Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas, supported by the Ontario government, have launched a new financial incentive program to help Ontarians enhance their home efficiency and comfort.

The Home Renovation Savings Program provides rebates of up to 30% for energy-efficient upgrades, including heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, smart thermostats, insulation and more. Additional rebates are available for new installations of solar panels and battery energy storage systems (when paired with solar panels).

Visit Save on Energy's Home Renovation Savings Program web page for more information and to see if you qualify.

CoolSaver™ Program

Residential customers located in Toronto's Richview South area may qualify for air conditioner tune-ups and central air conditioner replacements through the CoolSaver Program.

Visit Save on Energy's CoolSaver™ Program web page for more information.

Peak Perks™ Program

Peak Perks provides residential customers with the opportunity to get rewarded for reducing their energy use when demand for electricity in Ontario is high during the summer months.

If you have an eligible smart thermostat connected to your central air conditioning system or heat pump unit, signing up for the program could provide you with a $75 financial incentive in 2023. You'll also receive $20 for each additional year you stay enrolled in the program, starting in 2024.

Visit Save on Energy’s Peak Perks Program web page for more details.

Energy Affordability Program

Residential customers may qualify for free home energy-efficient upgrades through the Energy Affordability Program (EAP). Two types of support are available: comprehensive support and energy-saving kits.

For information regarding the EAP and to submit your application, please call the IESO at 1-844-770-3148 or visit Save on Energy’s EAP web page.
